TIER 2 ADOPTION (Annual Sponsorship): Pygmy Hippo, Vulture, Lemur, Crocodile, Otter

Oudtshoorn

Activity Description

Though you won’t be able to take these amazing big cats home with you, adopting them makes a massive difference to the way we can take care of them.
All funds are contributed towards our Cheetah Preservation Foundation, who ensures that your animal is very well looked after!

As a proud conservation and education facility, we receive no government funding, which is an enormous challenge with the overheads that we face. People seldom comprehend the massive costs that we face on a daily basis. Our facility is owned by a family and receives no government financial aid/funding as a zoological premise. Every day we are faced with exorbitant running costs of maintenance, water, electricity, etc… in addition our primary focus is to ensure that all the animals receive the highest standard medical attention and a calculated varied diet (species-specific) good enough for any human to eat. Our standards are exceptionally high and it all comes at a cost, as do the many hours of labor put in by our over 100 dedicated and animal-loving staff. Some months are good for us… but unfortunately, some months are not as kind, however, we continue to work hard to provide the best for our animals and our tourists.

We receive very few sponsorships and donations in general but are always grateful for the help that we do receive. We have built our own on-site Animal Care Centre (hospital) which is of massive assistance to us, and the animals.

Your contribution would definitely positively influence any one of our over 90 species.

Customer Reviews

We had a very informative and interactive livestream with the guides Leo and Navin. All the students' questions were answered on a level that they could understand. They were absolutely mesmerized by the guides and the crocodiles. Adopting Nemo the crocodile went easy and smooth with Carmen responding shortly after to confirm the adoption and to present the certificate. - BISK

I decided while having a lovely tramazini with a sinful Bar One milkshake at your restaurant that I simply have to adopt a Cape Vulture. I went on to your website and a couple of clicks later I'm the proud mommy of Leopold Vulture! :) It wasn't long till the email from Carmen came through, thanking me for the adoption, etc. As I was still roaming around at my Happy Place, aka The Ranch, I quickly popped in by her office. The next day I was back for my certificate, a free button and my free encounters, which were amazing, especially feeding the leopard! Every one at the ranch are so friendly, dedicated and inspiring! 5 Stars all round! - Annemie
